Noticeboard

2020 Flu clinics - contact surgery to book an appointment please

Do not attend if you or any members of your household have symptoms of coronavirus, or if you have been told to isolate.

Attend on your own unless you need help with your mobility.

Please arrive on time for your appointment - Do not arrive early or late for your appointment time: we have allocated a strict arrival time of patients to ensure that people are queueing for the minimum amount of time and social distancing is maintained.   Please wear a face covering.

Once you have sanitised, we encourage you not to touch anything in the practice an follow the instructions for queuing. If you are in a wheelchair or have very limited mobility, please make yourself known to the queue marshal

There will be no chairs available to sit while waiting and you will not be able to sit whilst having the vaccination (for infection control). If you think you will struggle with this, please speak to the queue marshal on arrival.

Wear clothing which makes it easy to expose your upper arm. The vaccinations will be given behind a screen in the waiting room to comply with infection control.

Please note that people in the 50-64-year old age group will not be vaccinated until November and December, providing there is sufficient vaccine, and no appointments will be offered for this age group until then. This is to ensure that those who are most at risk are vaccinated first.  If you are 50-64 and you are in one of the other groups which is eligible for the flu vaccination, for example you have a health condition which puts you at risk from the flu, you will be invited earlier.

Appointments

bpTelephone lines and surgery are open from 8.00am to 6.00pm Monday to Friday. For appointments to see the doctor or nurse, please call at our reception or telephone 01642 511660. We operate an Advanced Access System which enables us to offer all patients an appointment with a health professional within 24 hours and with a general medical practitioner within 48 hours.

Online access appointments are available to book - ask at reception for details.

Although we will try to offer patients an appointment with the doctor of their choice this may not always be possible, in which case an explanation will be given. Generally there are a number of pre-bookable appointments available with each doctor on a daily basis and all nurse practitioner and practice nurse appointments can be booked in advance.

We also offer extended hours for patients who cannot attend during normal surgery hours because of work commitments or other reasons. For more information or to pre book an appointment please contact reception. From August 2019 extended hours will be available on a Wednesday evening and a Saturday morning.

In an average month the surgery offers over 6,000 doctor or nurse appointments of which approx 300 are missed due to patients not attending. Please let us know as soon as possible if you are unable to keep an appointment so that the time may be utilised by others.  If you do not attend 3 appointments in a 6 month period you may be asked to register at another surgery.

Please remember that an appointment is for one person only and a separate appointment should be made for any other persons attending for consultation.
